OUR SUBCOMMITTEES
SIX PRIDES. ONE MISSION.
USACC fundraises through five subcommittees: CATWALK, Cloakrooms, Events, Race2, Race4 & RAG. From large-scale hitchhikes across Europe to iconic looks on the runway, all of our subcommittees work to raise as much money as possible for charity.
CATWALK
CATWALK began as a student-led initiative to merge the creative energy of the University of St Andrews with the transformative power of charitable giving. After its revival, it has grown year on year, becoming one of the most anticipated events in the St Andrews calendar.
What began as a small-scale event has evolved into a major production: a fully designed runway show, live music, professional lighting, and a curated audience of students, faculty, sponsors and community members.
Since its revival, CATWALK has raised more than £55,000 for charitable causes, while mentoring hundreds of students across fashion, event management, marketing, finance, logistics and the creative arts.
CLOAKROOMS
A large part of USACC's involvement with the student community is through our cloakrooms subcommittee. Our volunteers give up their nights to work the Union's cloakroom with 100% of the night's profits going to our charities. If you are interested in volunteering with cloakrooms, click the link below!
RACE2
Race2 was started by the Charities Campaign in the early 90s as an exciting way to raise more funds for the selected charities. Students team up to race across Europe via hitchhiking. For over a decade, the race was simply called 'Race 2 Paris' and used the same end location. Starting in the noughties, the committee decided to expand the scope and since then, races have finished all across the European mainland! Last year, the end destination was Madrid! This year's destination will be revealed soon...
RACE4
Race4 began in 2026 as a way to bring the excitement and exhilaration of Race2 closer to home. If you love adventure, embrace a challenge, and want to support others, why not Race4Charity in the UK this year! We are currently taking applications for the brand new Race4 subcommittee. If you're interested in getting involved, come along to our EGM on October 5th at 5pm in Society Room B (the middle floor of the Union).
RAISING & GIVING
Raising and Giving (RAG) Week is an annual week of events hosted by the University of St Andrews Charities Campaign. From small events like bake sales to the infamous Take Me Out, RAG week is a memorable week packed with enough events to suit anyone and everyone.
